Happy 4th of July holiday weekend! To my friends who don’t live in the US, I hope you are having a great weekend as well.
We are spending the weekend at our Tiny Beach Cottage that you’ve watched us remodel this past year and we’ve been getting drenched by unexpected Tropical Storm Colin.
We arrived on Wednesday to sunshine and bright skies. We tried to hit all our favorite restaurants before the real crowds arrived and had lunch at Indochine in Wilmington. It is such a unique restaurant and I love their outdoor seating area. Then we did all our grocery shopping, etc. to avoid weekend rush.

Then finally we were all settled in for the weekend, the rain began.
Thankfully the storm should pass by us later today and although the weather hasn’t been great, we are having a relaxing time and enjoying time with our friends.
In addition, we are looking forward to a Low Country Boil with all of our beach neighbors on the 4th.
Then hopefully it will be a lot of beach time for the rest of the week. My favorite thing is to sit on the beach with a great book and let the waves drown out any conversation around me.
My friend CoCo at The Crowned Goat shared this quote and I felt it was so appropriate for this weekend.
Books I’m Reading
Here are few books that I loved.
If you like psychological thrillers, your should read The Good Sister by Sally Hepworth and The Housemaid by Freida McFadden. I couldn’t put these books down once I started reading and you can check them out below.

If you are looking for some easy but delicious appetizer recipes, you can see several on my easy appetizer page. I’m making these tasty Artichoke & Sun Dried Tomato Bites for the Low Country Boil tomorrow night.
