Delicious Air Fried Green Tomatoes with Remoulade Sauce
Looking for an easy, mess-free way to make fried green tomatoes? Here is a healthy recipe for air-fried green tomatoes, accompanied by a delicious remoulade sauce. I prefer this version to the traditional pan-fried recipe, and it’s much healthier. Although this recipe is typically classified as an appetizer, these delicious tomatoes are also great as a side dish.
Although many people consider Fried Green Tomatoes a Simple Southern Dish, I think everyone will agree that this recipe is simply delicious.

Remoulade Dipping Sauce
You can make the sauce before starting this dish or while the tomatoes are cooking. The sauce is tangy and delicious, which helps enhance the flavor of the fried tomatoes. See full recipe below.

Prepare the Green Tomatoes
You want to begin by washing the tomatoes because you do not want to peel them.
Mix the bread crumbs with the salt and pepper to taste.

Slice & Bread the Tomatoes
Next, slice your tomatoes into approx. 1/8-1/4 inch thick slices. Then, whisk the egg and dredge the tomato slices in it. Finally, coat thoroughly with the bread crumb mixture.

Insider Tip
There are two ways to reduce the calories. One is to use egg whites instead of the full egg. Brad’s best kept secret is using yellow mustard as a binding agent for breading. It works well on the tomatoes and we love the tangy taste. Try it.
Prepare Air Fryer Cooking Trays
Be sure to coat the air fryer trays with cooking spray to prevent the tomatoes from sticking. You can add a small amount of spray to the coated tomatoes to increase browning.
You will want to cook the Fried Green Tomatoes in an Air Fryer at 400 degrees for 5 minutes on each side. Therefore, a larger air fryer’s total cook time is 10 minutes.
However, if you have a small air fryer, you may not be able to cook the entire recipe at once. If this is the case, you will double your cooking time.

Notes
Yummy Air-Fried Green Tomatoes
Serve your Fried Green Tomatoes with Remoulade Sauce immediately. I’ve added a couple of sausage patties to complete the meal.
If you don’t like Remoulade sauce, try adding goat cheese and spicy jelly or jam. This will enhance the flavor of the Fried Green Tomatoes.
