My Air Fryer Recipe, Pulled Pork Egg Rolls are filled with slow cooked pork which is shredded by hand, and by itself is a southern favorite. But we take it a step further by adding another southern favorite, collard greens.

In order to make this dish as healthy as possible, the egg rolls are air fried.

This is a super easy and delicious recipe that is perfect for any occasion.

Pulled Pork Egg Rolls Air Fryer Recipe

First, you need your pulled pork. This can be purchased barbecue or you can cook your own. My husband makes the best pulled pork and I’ve shared that recipe with you here. He uses metal claws to shred the cooked pork.

In addition, you need collard greens, asiago shredded cheese, egg roll wrappers and an air fryer.

Another Southern Air Fryer favorite is Fried Green Tomatoes Recipe.

Options

  • You can deep fry this recipe but the air fryer is easier & healthier.
  • If you don’t like collards, you can substitute with sautéed onions.
  • In addition, any cheese will be great in this recipe.

Air fryers are still gaining in popularity and if you haven’t taken the leap yet, you might like to read Top 5 Reasons to Cook with an Air Fryer.

Instructions

Be sure to coat your wire rack with a cooking spray before you start.

Begin by preparing the egg roll wrapper. Dampen the edges of the wrapper with water using your finger tips.

Next, add pork, collards and cheese to the center of the wrapper as shown below.

Bring the upper and lower points in to cover the bottom and top of the contents. Press the edges firming on either side of the contents, forming a dimple and assuring that they stay in place.

Next, begin to roll the wrap from either side by folding over, covering entire center of the roll and continue rolling until it looks like an egg roll.

Whew!!! That’s a hard one to explain so see the video below.

Best Air Fryer Tip

This is the best air fryer tip for anything that you would like to have a golden, crispy outside. The air fryer will cook but it will not brown without this step.

Spray all sides of the egg roll with a cooking spray. I prefer an olive oil based spray but any will work.

This will give any item cooked in the air fryer a crispy, golden coating.

Place egg rolls on the wire rack or tray that comes with your air fryer. Make sure they are not touching because you want the air to circulate around each roll.

You will want to place the rack at the top of the oven and cook for 5 minutes at 400 degrees. Then remove the rack and flip the egg rolls over. Repeat the cook time.

Yummy Air Fryer Egg Rolls

After approx. 10 minutes your egg rolls are golden brown and ready for your tailgate party.

Cut the Pulled Pork Egg Rolls on an angle to reveal all the yummy ingredients and make them easier for dipping in your choice of sauces.

Tailgate Finger Food

In addition, I wrap each half of the egg roll with a small piece of parchment paper and place them in one of my vintage berry baskets along with a napkin and some dipping sauce.

This is an easy way for guest to pick up their food and graze without sitting down.
