20 Non-Floral Fall Centerpiece Ideas: Creative, Budget-Friendly Designs

Hey friends! I love creating unique centerpieces using thrifted containers and vintage finds. Over the past 10 years, I’ve especially enjoyed building table designs that don’t rely on fresh flowers. If you’re tired of overspending on blooms that wilt within days, you’ll love these budget-friendly, non-floral centerpiece ideas.

Today, I’m sharing a look back at autumn tablescapes and coffee table vignettes featuring thrifty finds, foraged materials, cozy candles, and vintage decor.

In the centerpiece below, I used a faux chicken feeder, and I filled it with mini-pumpkins, faux bittersweet stems, and dried okra pods. The star of this table is the darling pumpkin plates and the DIY packing paper plate chargers, so I wanted to keep the centerpiece simple. To add more drama, I included the same stems in the light fixture hanging vases.

I’ve used this tobacco stick lantern for several years. It’s versatile for creating all styles of vignettes. When I decorated the screen porch table for these Rustic and Elegant Fall Table Decor Ideas, I included DIY Plaster of Paris Copper Leaf Charger Plates along with the tobacco stick lantern centerpiece. I filled the lantern with a berry candle ring surrounding a scented candle and added vintage candlesticks and my vintage bird salt and pepper shakers.

Another year, I used a small dough bowl to create a lovely centerpiece with dried gourds, wheat stems, and dried okra pods.

DIY Pinecone Sunflower Centerpiece

One of my favorite DIY fall centerpiece ideas is this pinecone sunflower centerpiece. The combination of the flowers mixed with candles creates a charming low-profile arrangement.

I don’t decorate every year for Halloween,en but I had fun with this tablescape for one of our monthly supper club series themes. Almost the entire table and centerpiece were made with Dollar Tree supplies. I’ve created many tablescapes for the greenhouse, but this Friendsgiving Rustic Table Centerpiece is by far my favorite. A combination of three cornucopias, vintage candlestick holders, and a vintage turkey planter rests on a vintage cheese board and is filled with pumpkins and foraged fall elements. Dried corn husks, along with dried flowers and stems, surround the base of the cheese board.

This rustic Friendsgiving table centerpiece consists of DIY Twig Recycled Tin Can Containers filled with a paper leaf arrangement.

I gathered some of my amber bottles to mix with the arrangement and placed them on a wood slice. By adding vintage brass candlestick holders with flicker candlesticks and more bottles, I created a stunning and dramatic full table centerpiece. Even the art is draped with DIY paper leaf garland.

A couple of years ago, I used my vintage white milk glass to create this centerpiece consisting of two milk glass cake plates and bud vases as candlestick holders. I added pumpkins to the cake stands, and the table still stops me mid-scroll.

One of my first fall centerpiece ideas consists of gathered foraged acorns filling a thrifted hurricane vase. I had made several foraged grapevine wreaths, so I used them to surround the hurricane vase and thrifted candlestick holders. I added the flicker of candles to create a cozy non-floral centerpiece.

I love using what nature provides for fall decorating, and this dining table centerpiece is a great example. I combined a thrifted wooden bowl and fruit basket. The bowl is filled with gathered pinecones, okra pods, wheat stems, and persimmons. The footed fruit basket holds more pinecones and persimmons. The apples are a combination of faux and real. Thrifted black candlestick holders and a vintage turkey planter holding more wheat stems complete the non-floral centerpiece.

This nature-inspired centerpiece consists of a layered design. I began with a foraged grapevine wreath on top of an architectural pediment. Next, I added magnolia leaves and dried magnolia seed pods, topped with dried Sedum Autumn Joy stems, and finally a pumpkin on top.

Another outdoor fall table centerpiece idea is to fill containers with fresh herbs. I used table runners to anchor these recycled tin can vases containing simple herbs.

My living room coffee table is large and is a focal point of the room. Therefore, I love to create stunning, attention-getting vignettes. I like to use large-scale containers or trays to hold my fall decor.

Below is my favorite oversized vintage European wooden bowl filled with corn husks, faux leaves, and dried gourds. Simple but stunning.

Another year I used the same bowl and filled it with my vintage amber bottles, mixed with battery-operated flicker candles for a cozy, warm fall design.

Another year, I added a thrifted wooden toolbox to the coffee table and filled it with DIY Corn Husk topiaries and a Dollar Tree corn husk pumpkin.

A thrift store wooden tray was transformed with napkin decoupage and is a perfect base for this autumn centerpiece. I just added a couple of fall-colored candles to vintage brass candlestick holders, an acorn figurine, and a leaf bowl with paper mache pumpkins.

Instead of a wooden bowl, I used an oversized scoop basket filled with gathered pinecones and dried gourds. Adding a flicker candle and some dried stems completed this easy centerpiece.
