Dirt Road Adventures – A week of Recovery & Thrifting

Hey sweet friends and Happy Sunday!

Y’all I think I might have finally recovered from all the work we did on the Beach Cottage Renovation.

We traveled home last Sunday and I was like a zombie for several days.

Sometimes you don’t realize how exhausted you are until you slow down and rest.

Needless to say, it will be a few weeks before we will be able to tackle the rest of the renovations.

I will leave you with another sneak peek at the progress.

See that red chest among everything else in the cottage? Well, it looks so much better with a fresh coat of paint.

I used Annie Sloan Graphite Chalk Paint and only needed two coats to cover all the red.

I was excited that my front door was featured on the Delaney Hardware Display at the International Builders Show in Orlando this past week.

This is a shot from their Instagram feed and you can see my door and Rudy in the upper left hand corner.

I loved working with Delaney Hardware during their 12 Doors of Christmas campaign, spring porch refresh campaign and most recently on our beach cottage renovations.

This is a look back at all my adventures this past week.

I began the week with a detailed post about how we built our Budget Friendly Open Kitchen Cabinet

Next, I shared some links to Valentine’s Day and Galentine’s Day Ideas.

There is one more day so here are the last Valentine links you’ll see this year. Hopefully! LOL

Here’s one that would be great for Spring as well as Valentine’s Day. Easy Moss Heart and Vintage Seed Packet Garland.

And anytime is a good time to plan girlfriend time. Click here for How to Plan Girlfriend Time and see all the benefits of spending time with friends.

Next, I shared How to Use A Vintage Headboard and how to refinish one with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and Wax.

Thrifting Adventures

I managed to fit in a little retail therapy after I recovered. Here are some of the items I found.

I have plans for these lemon salt and pepper shakers and stay tuned to see how I’m using them. They were still in their original packaging.

Staying true to my Thrifting Goals for 2022, I found some great vintage brass deals.

Can you guest where I might use these brass sconces?

Valentines Day

What are you hoping to get for Valentine’s Day? I’ll forego the candy and flowers for some more vintage shopping. Stay turned to see what I get for V day.

Galentine’s Day Adventure

I did get the opportunity to spend some quality time with my girlfriends this past week. We started the evening at Leo’s Whisky Bar, which is a cute little speakeasy style bar, downtown Asheboro, NC. Although I’m not a whisky drinker, I found something yummy on the menu and we had a great time.

We then walked over to the The Flying Pig for dinner. If you’ve never visited Downtown Asheboro, you should come and check out the vintage and antique shops and other surprises. Everything is within walking distance and there’s plenty of free parking.

BTW, no one would allow any photo’s for the evening. We are getting to that age. LOL

Each week, there are so many wonderful blog posts, and I’m sharing some of my favorites with you today.

There are so many creative ideas, and I’m always asking myself, “Why didn’t I think of that”? LOL

Rachel, I think I need a nap after reading about all the work you have done on the beach cottage. That is not only impressive, but amazing! Thanks for all the great inspiration and love those sconces..for the beach house? Again, thanks for the feature on my Self Care for hands. As I get older, I am noticing I can't open jars as easily. Am actively trying to strengthen and care for the two amazing tools God gave us.

Mary, Thank you for your sweet comments and encouragement. I to find that with age my hands don't function as well. I loved your tips.
