Dirt Road Adventures – Welcome September

Happy Sunday, and welcome to Dirt Road Adventures and welcome September. Each Sunday, we review all the exciting events behind the scenes, on the website, and the sources of inspiration I discovered online during the past week. This weekly recap ensures you don’t miss any of our adventures.

I hope you are having a wonderful Labor Day Weekend. We are spending the weekend at our beach cottage.

Actually, I’ve been here for over a week because I came early for our annual Girls Beach Weekend.

Brad and Rudy joined me on Tuesday, and we survived the tropical storm Idalia. We had lots of rain, high winds, and a power outage for several hours. Otherwise, we were fortunate compared to those areas south of us. We are praying for all those less fortunate along the Atlantic Coast and in Florida.

Rudy spent much of the storm hiding in the bathroom. Once it was over, he was exhausted and slept the day away.

Adventures at the End of the Dirt Road

This is a look back at all my adventures this past week.

Most of last week was spent walking, dining out, and shopping. All the beach neighbors were here for the weekend, and we will all gather this evening for our annual Hot Dog Supper.

Thrifting Adventures

While visiting Wilmington, I always have to check in to one of my favorite shops, Ivy Cottage. They are a consignment shop, and the inventory is ever-changing.

I found one new piece of vintage copper to add to my growing collection. Although the new piece looks right at home on the DIY Pegboard Shelf, it will most likely show up in the farmhouse kitchen.

In addition, I love this old pine cupboard. The price is reasonable, but I’m worried about transporting it from Wilmington to Asheboro. Still thinking about it.

They had several fall decor pieces and a few great baskets that I’m still considering.

In Case You Missed It

It was a great week on the blog. We explored many money saving decor and storage solutions. Fall decorating with inexpensive collectibles and more.

Rachel, I'm glad that the hurricane did not cause too much damage at your place. That's such a cute picture of Rudy! Our little dog always stuck close to us whenever we had unusual weather. Our pets always seem to know when something is not quite right.

That pine cabinet is lovely and I hope that you go back to that shop and bring it home with you!

Have a great week! Fall is such a lovely time of the year. We enjoy seeing the leaves change color.
