Thanksgiving Tablescape Inspiration
What inspires your table decorations? Maybe it’s a unique item you were lucky to find at a thrift store or something as simple as the fall leaves drifting to the ground this time of year. Many of my previous fall tables have been inspired by thrifted cornacupias, vintage turkey planters, and more; however, a set of new dishes inspired this year’s table. I’ll share some previous tables with you at the end of today’s post.
Unfortunately, I’m obsessed with dishes, whether vintage or new, and they can inspire a tablescape the minute I spot them. These Homestead Harvest Turkey Dinner Plates inspired this year’s Thanksgiving table. I found them online at TJ Maxx, and the price was right, so I’ll share how they inspired this rustic, elegant table. I usually like to start with what I already own, but you know, every once in a while, a girl’s gotta have something new.

I also found this plum colored fall pumpkin tablecloth at TJ Maxx. The fabric has a vintage feel, and I knew it would add warmth to the farmhouse-style tablescape. Unfortunately, it has sold out, but I’ll share some similar styles that would work for a warm farmhouse feel.
Everything else that I used was something I already owned or gathered from nature.
To add a dash of color, I added burnt orange napkins with white porcelain napkin rings, both thrifted finds. As autumn approaches, I love how the blooms on my Sedum Autumn Joy plants turn from pink to burgundy. To pull in more plum colors, I tucked a free small bloom into each napkin ring.

The natural, layered centerpiece completes the rustic ambiance of the Thanksgiving tablescape. With 100% natural materials, the arrangement is easy to make, and the free materials make it very cost-effective. It combines both the plum and orange tones that you see in the tablecloth. You can see the full details for creating this layered centerpiece at Eco-Friendly DIY Thanksgiving Centerpiece With Layered Natural Elements.

Thanksgiving Place Setting
To complete the Thanksgiving place setting, I used rattan woven placemats, topped with a large white charger plate. The white plate helps highlight the darker tones of the turkey dishes and prevents them from disappearing on the dark tablecloth. Finally, a white pumpkin is placed on each dinner plate to brighten the table’s overall rustic feel.

I’m always stocking up on thrifted glassware and silverware. I decided to keep today’s table simple with clear water goblets and wine glasses. The silverware was steal at a Habitat for Humanity Restore from a few years ago.

Dining Room Decor For Thanksgiving
In addition to the tablescape, I like to continue the cozy autumn vibe throughout the dining area. The European gathering basket summer florals have been replaced with dried stems, grass, and pods. One of my favorite thrift store finds was these dried gourds that look like an apple and a pear. They add a warm touch to the corner pedestal.

Fall Plate Gallery Wall
In addition, I switched out the summer plates on the gallery wall for some of my vintage fall dishes. Warm-toned fall platters, golden wheat, and other thrifted dishes complete the autumn ambiance.

In Conclusion
The key to styling your Thanksgiving table is to keep it simple. Don’t feel you have to spend a fortune or spend hours decorating. Focus instead on creating a warm, inviting atmosphere that will make your guests feel welcome. Look for inspiration in nature, at thrift stores, and with your existing tableware. Let your creativity shine and have a blessed Thanksgiving.
