Why Is Porch Entertaining A Great Summer Option
As the summer heats up, you may find that outdoor parties are less than comfortable. By setting a table on a porch, you can avoid the sun and add fans to keep guests cool. If you have a screened porch, even better, because you can not only keep the heat at bay, but also those pesky bugs.
We have ceiling fans on our porches, which help with airflow and keep the bugs away.

Inspiration For Easy Summer Tablescape
As I was planning this tablescape, I received a lovely, elegant set of silverware from Annova. They offer a wide variety of quality but affordable cutlery. I love the bone handles and the elegant decorative details.
In addition, I wanted a breezy summer feel, and Bico Ceramics Summer Provence dishes are a perfect warm-weather choice. The delicate floral pattern has a whimsical touch with some of those pesky bugs right on the plates.
With these basic pieces in place, the final inspiration was the faux peach stems. What says summer better than stems loaded with peaches? They provide a relaxed centerpiece to complete the tablescape.

How To Create The Summer Place Settings
To create an easy, breezy table place setting, I used round rattan placemats for the base. Then I added the floral dinner plate with whimsical flowers and bees that scream summertime.
A simple beige linen napkin holds the elegant silverware, and blue water goblets complete the place setting. The no-fuss, simple setting is perfect for casual porch entertaining.

The placemats and cut-glass goblets add texture to the summer tablescape.

How To Make A Peach Centerpiece
It’s peach season in the south, and although real peach stems would be a little heavy for a centerpiece, these faux stems are the perfect solution. I used a handcrafted thrift-store basket to hold the stems in a haphazard arrangement. Instead of trying to arrange the stems in styrofoam, I just gathered them in the center of the basket and filled in with moss to hold them in place. The results are a loose arrangement that feels freshly picked.

The peach colors are reflected in the Summer Provence dishes, and the woven basket container adds more texture that complements the placemats. The combinations help to pull the tablescape together for a relaxed gathering.

The Easy Summer Porch Tablescape
Summer entertaining doesn’t have to be complicated. When you set a table on a screened porch or patio, your guests will expect a laid-back, relaxing event. So the table should feel relaxed and casual as well.

Everyday dishes and natural elements help to create a simple atmosphere on the screened porch. Your guests can relax and enjoy a refreshing meal.

Summer is the perfect time to plan a simple menu using fresh in-season foods. I love serving this refreshing and delicious fresh peach bruschetta appetizer in the summer. Or, keep everyone cool with these frozen peach mojitos. If you don’t want to serve alcoholic beverages, you can make these into mocktails by replacing the rum with rosemary simple syrup and lemon juice. The recipe includes the mocktail version.
