Dirt Road Adventures – Thrifting Week

Happy Spring Friends! I’m so excited you stopped by today.

It was a busy week as we got caught up after spending so much time at our beach cottage.

I did manage to share some of the details about decorating the cottage in a Farmhouse Coastal style, all while shopping resale, thrift and consignment shops.

In addition, while out thrifting this past week, I found some great copper pieces at our Christian United Outreach Center. I loved the cute lids and especially how they add to my collection.

However, I may need a larger plate rack! It’s getting loaded with thrifted finds.

Did you see how I made the plate rack? If not, click here for all the details.

Thrifting Tip – Reuse & Contribute

I found many of the items we used in our beach cottage at the CUOC in Downtown Asheboro. It’s a local charity thrift store that benefits so many citizens in our community who are in need.

When you shop local charity shops, you will find so many great deals because all their inventory is donated by concerned citizens.

In addition, you are contributing to the charity with your purchase, saving items from the landfills and helping those in need.

Think Repurpose, Reuse and Recycle when you shop your local thrift stores.

Here are the items that came from CUOC to help decorate our beach cottage and all the details were featured on this post.

Twice Lucky!

After finding the copper one day, I couldn’t resist popping in one more time.

Although I’d just shopped two days before, you know my car automatically turns in as I drive by! lol!

But just look what I found. This old wooden bowl is 13″ in diameter and 2 1/2 inches deep and they had just put it out.

It pays to stop in often! Find some other tips on Successful Thrift Store Shopping here.

Can’t wait to decorate with it. Stay turned.

In other thrifted news!

I also refinished a thrifted mid-century dresser that I shared a few weeks back.

Although we kept the chest of drawers, I added the dresser my mini shop, Downtown Asheboro.

It’s looks completely up to date in this new color which is Amsterdam Green by Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.
