Dirt Road Adventures: Cozy Fall Decor, 6th Chemo Treatment, First Christmas DIY
Happy Sunday, and welcome to Dirt Road Adventures! This is where we review all the exciting events behind the scenes, on the website, and the sources of inspiration I discovered online during the past week. This weekly recap ensures you don’t miss any of our adventures here at the end of our Dirt Road.
Hey Friends, This week passed quickly. We traveled home from the beach on Tuesday, finished some last-minute fall decorating, and put together a Thanksgiving Centerpiece and Tablescape you will see next week. I also shared my first Retro Christmas Decoration Tutorial.

I also completed my 6th Chemo treatment on Friday. Found out a little about what to expect after hopefully my last treatment next month. You can read all the details in My Healing Journal.

What’s In My Cart
I also spent last week stocking up on some Christmas ribbons and decorations. Here’s what’s been in my cart and is now on it’s way to my front door.
- These Gold Glitter Markers are for an upcoming project.
- And so is this Metallic Acrylic Glass Gold Paint
- These mini vintage-inspired ornaments just arrived—they’re so adorable.
- I plan to use the ornaments with these mini wreaths that can be used as candle rings.
- I’m taking a chance that these Real Touch Norfolk Pine Wreaths look as good as they do online. The price is so good that I’m a little nervous. I’ll keep you informed.
- I’ve stocked up on velvet ribbons in these colors: 3/8″ Brown Velvet Ribbon, 1″ Sage Green Velvet Ribbon, and 3/8″ Sage Velvet Ribbon.
- Double-Sided Tape Rollers
- Elmer’s Glue Sticks
- And I couldn’t resist a little holiday fashion. This Merry & Bright Sweater looks adorable.
- I’ve had so many requests for a link to my cotton hats (image below), so here it is. – Turban Cap.
Thank you!
I want to take a minute to thank you for your support and for the many prayers as I’ve recovered from my surgery. I’ve been unable to add as many new blog posts as I usually do, but you have been so understanding and encouraging. I’ve completed my 6th treatment, and God willing, I’ll only have one more. I hope to be back to a normal schedule soon. Your patience is greatly appreciated.

I am happy that we are at the end of this “adventure” and hopefully sooner rather than later. You sound so much better which is a good sign. I did make my pumpkin pin cushion with the dryer ball and it is so cute, The catch is only the sharpest pins push in, but enough worked so it is functional. I can’t wait to see what you come up with next. I hope the week goes well I’ll be praying for this to be over. Hugs…
Diana,
I’m so glad the pumpkin pin cushion worked. I’d love to see a picture if you’d be willing to share. Thank you for your kind words and I hope you have a lovely week.
I’ve been following your blog, and I just wanted to tell you how deeply it’s impacted me. Your words remind me what real strength looks like. You’ve helped me see that even in the hardest times, there can still be light and purpose. You’re truly inspiring.
Cherie,

Rachel! What terrific news you received regarding the genetic information on your cancer! So thrilled for you! And one more treatment! Prayers you can soon ring that bell. And I thought you looked great in your cap! Thanks as always for all the great content and I very much appreciated the links for the gold pens and paint…score!!!
