Dirt Road Adventures-Winter In NC

Hey friends, winter has arrived and brrr… it’s cold. We are just trying to stay warm and cozy right now.

We finally got a real snow yesterday so here are a couple views of the snow in NC.

Our Saturday morning view

Rudy’s first snow. If you missed my stories over on Instagram, you can catch Rudy in action here on TikTok.

.

This was the first snow to fall on the DIY Greenhouse as well.

Earlier this week

On Monday, we made a mad dash back to our beach cottage to winterize the house before the pipes froze. While we were there, we made a little more progress in the kitchen remodel.

Sneak Peek at Beach Cottage Progress

Here is another sneak peek of what we did this past week.

First, do you remember last week we saw Brad cutting into the wall between the living room and the kitchen?

Well, here’s why! We are opening the wall to include a bar style eating area in the living room.

Here is a view of the wall before it was removed and then an after view.

In addition, I painted the hutch that was in the living room and brought it into the kitchen.

First, the before photo shows the counter and upper cabinet which was removed and the cabinet is being repurposed with a new top. In addition, the hutch looks fresh and new when it was moved into the kitchen.

Also, I finally found the perfect console table for the beach cottage. I’m loving that it is solid pine because I’m looking for pine pieces this year while Thrifting with the Gals.

I’m not sure if the finish will work at the cottage but I’ll take it down there before making any changes.

This is a look back at all my adventures this past week.

In Case You Missed It

I shared my favorite Taco Soup Recipe and these delicious Cornbread Muffins. BTW, these muffins made a repeat appearance last night with some chili.

On Thursday, I shared a Thrifting with the Gals Blog Hop – What to Look for in Thrift Stores this Year!

“Keeping it Cozy” was another fun Blog Hop and I shared 10 Cozy Decorating Ideas and a Loft Tour.

Finally, I shared my latest DIY Project – Easy Twig Napkin Rings! I’ll be sharing how I use them for a Cozy Winter Tablescape on Thursday. So stay tuned.
