Dirt Road Adventures-May Is Here with Proms & Baby Geese
Happy Sunday, and welcome to Dirt Road Adventures! This is where we review all the exciting events behind the scenes, on the website, and the sources of inspiration I discovered online during the past week. This weekly recap ensures you donโt miss any of our adventures here at the end of our Dirt Road.
It’s prom season. Another group of teenagers got their photos taken here at The Ponds yesterday. We enjoyed watching all the lovely dresses, coiffed hair, and tuxedos. Unfortunately, it rained, so everyone had to squeeze onto the porch for many of the photos. There were so many cute couples! Aww, to be that young and thin again!

Adventures at the End of the Dirt Road
This is a look back at all my adventures this past week.
Gertrude and Heathcliff returned again this year. We’ve been watching Heathcliff standing guard on the pond dam for several weeks. A few days ago, they both appeared with their little goslings. We love to see the new babies arrive, but as they grow, we are ready for them to move on. With two goslings, the mess they create will soon be doubled. We will happily welcome Gertrude & Heathcliff back next year so they have a semi-safe haven to nest. But for now, go make a mess in some other yard! LOL

Thrifting Adventures
My friend and I couldn’t resist helping celebrate Spade & Brooms’ 14th Anniversary and snagged some great deals.

In addition to some authentic-looking faux herbs, I found these two hexagon-shaped planters and the primitive wooden citrus squeezer. My favorite find was the vintage pickling crock with the lid.

I also stopped in at some of my favorite thrift stores and came away with these great deals. Some great-shaped cookie cutters will come in handy for craft projects. I plan to repurpose the wreath and the amazing fruit basket (be still my heart). I’m so excited to show you what I have planned. The vintage wooden spoon will be added to my collection.

Cute fit Rachel! I didnt know you guys hosted prom photos there! How scenic!!! xoxo
Stacy,
This is just the second time. Thanks for stopping by.
Rachel, I loved seeing the picture of Gertrude and Heathcliff with their sweet little goslings! Thanks for sharing! When we built our home at the lake, we always had the geese and their little goslings come up and sun themselves on our lawn. It was so cute to see them and, by the end of the season, they were really tame and would often come up on our porch! And, yes, they did make quite the mess on our lawn! It kept my hubby busy racking everything up and disposing of it. We also had a family of wood ducks nest in the duck house my husband built for them. It was so cute to see mamma and pappa calling to them to get them to leave the nest and waddle down to the lake. We just loved watching all this. We also had lots of bird feeders and humming bird feeders. Just loved to sit on our porch and watch it all. We were so blessed! Now that we are here in our new condo by the river, we can watch the seagulls and the pelicans. Rachel, you look so cute in your lovely black and white houndstooth blazer. I also like how you turned up the hem on your jeans! I have started to do this too! It sure beats hemming! Have a great week.

Thank you for your comments. We do love all the nature and wildlife that surrounds us. It’s a lot to keep up with but so worth it. I’m so glad you are inspired by some of outfits. It’s a little departure from my normal blog but I love fashion and have a mini shop within a shop in town. It’s just clothing and handbags. Have a bless day.
