Wow, did April slip away or what?

Greenhouse Dream Come True

Today I’m celebrating a dream come true.

Two years ago this past week, we started construction on my dream greenhouse.

We didn’t have a clue what we were doing but I knew we could figure it out.

Due to covid, my husband wasn’t traveling for work and we began our project.

Although I knew we could do it and he was somewhat skeptical.

All the really hard work fell to him.

I still have nightmares about trying to hold the ladder steady as he installed the rafters and the roof.

Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way

Have you heard “Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way”?

It’s words to live by.

If you believe you can, you are right and if you believe you can’t, you are right.

I’ve lived my life believing anything is possible when you set your mind to it. You may fail and make mistakes but that’s how you grow and learn.

We made so many mistakes building the greenhouse and learned so much that we will probably (or hopefully) will never use again.

Since the success of the greenhouse, we felt more confident about remodeling our tiny beach cottage.

With each success, our confidence grows and we feel we can accomplish anything and the good news is we can!

Growth requires stepping outside our comfort zones and attempting things we are not confident about.

It’s also requires not listening to naysayers!

I learned a long time ago that there are two types of people that try to hold you back from your full potential, the naysayers!

1. Those who fear you will fail because they love you but they themselves don’t have the confidence to step out and take a risk.
2. Those who fear you will succeed and will be jealous of your success. They will try to undermine your confidence.

Don’t let either of these naysayers hold you back from your dreams!

This is a look back at all my adventures this past week.

I began the week with a trip to my favorite garden center to start the planting season.

Going the Whitaker Farm Garden Center is such a treat. I can’t wait for you to see the gorgeous geraniums I got for the front porch.

In the meantime, here are some views from my trip to the garden center.

They have a beautiful greenhouse filled with amazing flowers. I wanted to take one of each home.

Colonoscopy Screening –

In other news, I was on a restricted diet all week in preparation for a Colonoscopy Screening on Friday. It’s always a dread because of the preparation but the procedure is over before you know it. It’s something that is very important for us to do.

I’ve been having colonoscopies since I was 40 and I’ve never missed my recommended follow up screenings. I have previously had colon polyps removed during a screening and therefore have been considered higher risk. People at average risk should begin screenings at 45 years of age.

If you’d like to know more about recommendations and importance of regular screenings, here is an article from the American Cancer Society.

I was very happy to receive a clean bill of health this time and will not need another screening for 10 years.

Celebrate

After the procedure, I was starving and although I was a little sedated, I managed to wolf down a Chick-fil-A sandwich in celebration.

Birthday Celebration

In happier news!

Since I was finally able to eat again, we celebrated our son-in-laws birthday on Saturday.
