Dirt Road Adventures: Summer’s Fading and Fall Is In The Air, Pre-Surgery Update

Happy Sunday, and welcome to Dirt Road Adventures! This is where we review all the exciting events behind the scenes, on the website, and the sources of inspiration I discovered online during the past week. This weekly recap ensures you don’t miss any of our adventures here at the end of our Dirt Road.

Hey Friends,

It feels like such a long week. We began the week at the beach with the blessing of fall-like temperatures. It was wonderful to sit on the porch in the mornings, needing a blanket. Unfortunately, the cooler weather brought rain, which stayed with us as we traveled home mid-week.

I spent some time working on the fall projects I mentioned last week. I was able to share the Pottery Barn-inspired pumpkin and wood bead garland, but I have several more in the works.

Friday was a hard day as we traveled to UNC Chapel Hill Women’s Hospital for my upcoming surgery pre-op appointment. My surgery is scheduled for August 18th, and it is going to be a serious operation. I will admit that all the information was scary, and I’m very nervous about both the surgery and recovery. This next will be filled with preparation and trying to complete my projects beforehand.

You can read about my upcoming surgery and my ovarian cancer diagnosis in My Healing Journal.
