Why are Cranberry Recipes A Thanksgiving and Christmas Tradition?

Cranberries are native to America and were growing in abundance in the 1500s. It is believed that the pilgrims and American Indians consumed cranberries at the first Thanksgiving. They symbolically represent an American Harvest.

Their festive red color has carried over and is considered a typical ingredient in recipes for Christmas as well.

In addition to cranberry recipes, cranberries are a symbol of Christmas. The colorful red berries are perfect for holiday decorating. They add a bright spot tucked into greenery, wreaths, and garlands. String fresh cranberries to decorate the Christmas tree, add them to a bowl on the kitchen counters, and more.

Supplies Needed For Recipe

Gather all your ingredients, and preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 176 Celsius.
