Supply List
- Cinnamon Sticks
- Recycled Small Tin Cans (small baked beans, tomato paste, or other individual-size cans work well.)
- Jute Twine
- Spray Paint: Looking Glass Silver, Gold Metallic, Metallic Rubbed Bronze
- Hot Glue Gun
- Flameless Votive Candles
- Velvet Ribbon (optional)
- Red Berries (optional)

How To Prepare Recycled Tin Cans
I’m always saving tin cans to use in my craft ideas. These cans are small and perfect for this project.
- Wash & Dry Tin Cans
- Bend the rim of the tin cans to flatten sharp edges.

How To Paint Tin Cans
Next, spray paint the tin cans in a well-ventilated area. Use the three suggested spray paints in this order.
- Looking Glass Silver to the inside of the can. Turn over to drain any excess.
- Follow with a coat of Metallic Gold. Drain any excess.
- Finally, spray the outsides of the cans with Oil Rubbed Bronze Metallic paint.

How To Attach Cinnamon Sticks to Tin Cans
Once the paint is dry, you are ready to heat up the glue gun and start adding the cinnamon sticks.
Add Jute Twine
To ensure a good bond, I wrap the tin cans with jute twine. I used a 4 mm-weight twine and wrapped it around the can about 4 times. Use the hot glue to secure the twine in place.

Add Cinnamon Sticks
Next, add a row hot glue to the wrapped jute twine from top to bottom. Align the stick with the bottom of the can. Then press a cinnamon stick to the glue and hold until set.
Continue around the can until it is completely covered. Ensure that the sticks are all placed vertically and that the bottom edges are aligned so the can will sit flat on a table.

How To Decorate Cinnamon Stick Tea Light Candle Holders
There are several options for decorating the cinnamon stick candle holders. I added a small double-sided velvet ribbon and tied it into a bow. Then I tucked in a few small burgundy berries and small sprigs of cedar. Add a flameless tea light a,nd ta-da, it’s oh, so cute.

How To Decorate With Cinnamon Stick Candle Holders
These easy and simple candle holders are the perfect size to add to a dining table, holiday mantel, kitchen countertop, or open shelf.

I added one to the kitchen countertop vignette. It’s a perfect complement to the DIY Wood Slice Christmas tree.
