Dirt Road Adventures: October Vibes & The Final Countdown
Happy Sunday, and welcome to Dirt Road Adventures! This is where we review all the exciting events behind the scenes, on the website, and the sources of inspiration I discovered online during the past week. This weekly recap ensures you don’t miss any of our adventures here at the end of our Dirt Road.
Well, friends, it’s been a roller coaster of a week. We began with lots of rain and a feeling of hopelessness on my part regarding my recovery. But then the sun came out, and so did my positive attitude. I finally turned all my worries over to God, and a peace settled around me. I completed my 5th chemo treatment on Friday, so we are in the final countdown. Two more to go! I’ll be honest, starting back on chemo after surgery is scary. But I know God has this, and I’ll get through next week. If you’d like to see more about my healing journey, you can read My Healing Journal.
(Note: The journal is long, and if you want to catch up on the latest, scroll down from the beginning until you see the Table of Contents. Open and you can see the dates and jump to the latest without having to scroll the whole journal.)
In other news, I’m taking advantage of my steroid high from the chemo treatment. I enjoyed a lunch date with some dear friends and then went to my husband’s 50th High School Class Reunion. It was nice to do something normal for a change.

Adventures Off The Dirt Road
Why Didn’t I Think of That?
There are so many wonderful blog posts each week, and I’m sharing some of my favorites with you today.
There are so many creative ideas, and I’m always asking myself, “Why didn’t I think of that”? LOL
- I’m not much of a baker, but Wendy’s Cinderella Pumpkin Cake is so adorable, I want to make one.
- I love a good gathered twig project, and KariAnne’s adorable pumpkin art is on my to-do list.
- I managed to walk through a small section of our local antique mall and picked up an antique watercolor print. I loved seeing that fall art was included in Liz Marie’s list of what to look for in fall antiques.
- After being stuck indoors for weeks, I was glad to see Stacy’s Low-Maintenance Plants, which help purify the indoor air. On my way to gather some plants.
Make It & I’ll Share It
Nothing makes my day like knowing I have helped inspire your creativity. Your comments are always welcome, and I love seeing your projects come to life. Here is one from last week.
Thank You For Sharing My Inspired Idea Lisa
Lisa Jones was inspired to start her fall porch with corn shucks and pumpkins from last week’s Corn Stalk and Corn Shuck Ideas. Isn’t her porch lovely?

What’s In My Cart
- I’m loving these gorgeous block print pillows for updating my living room for fall.
- I just saw they are making this book into a movie. If you have not read ON FIRE, I highly recommend it. It will change your life.
- These are my favorite chewable Vit. D tablets. (I can’t tolerate a swallow pill)
- I’ve started to bring out some of my silver for the holidays and I love this silver cleaner.
- Have you seen Thistlewood & Companies’ shop? I’m loving these handmade one-of-a-kind houses, cottages, barns, etc.
Thank you for stopping by as always. I appreciate you and your continued support and prayers.
