Dirt Road Adventures: A Week of Winter Crafts, Decorating, and A High Protein Recipe
Happy Sunday, and welcome to Dirt Road Adventures! This is where we review all the exciting events behind the scenes, on the website, and the sources of inspiration I discovered online during the past week. This weekly recap ensures you don’t miss any of our adventures here at the end of our Dirt Road.
Hey Friends, and Welcome!
It’s been a cold week here at The Ponds Farmhouse. Perfect for getting creative with some new/old craft ideas and finalizing my winter decorating. I hope you liked everything I shared this week. Did you notice that 5 of the 6 posts were brand new? I feel I’m finally getting back to normal after so many months of just hanging on. I certainly appreciate everyone for hanging in with me.
I’m finally caught up on my doctor appointment and tests that I had to postpone during chemo treatments. I’ve gotten the results, and all is well. I’ve shared all the updates on My Healing Journal.

A few years ago, I updated a damaged thrift-store birdhouse with moss and tree bark. My friend Lorrie sent me her version after finding a cheap birdhouse at a thrift store. Didn’t she do a great job? I love her roof choice. Thank you for sharing, Lorrie.

Can’t wait to see all your old school crafts! I’m not a great crocheter, I can knit but have always wanted to work at being better at crochet. I’m definitely going to use your tutorial and give it another try!
Have a wonderful week 💕

Lisa,
I’m glad you are going to give it a try. I can’t get the hang of knitting so there you go. Let me know if you have any questions. Have a blessed day.
Well this was fun and that Reindeer heart wreath is darling. I think I already have the heart wreath form but I will have to check. I love those quilts and I agree I can’t imagine not owning some. I never tried to cut them up and use or make something else but I am going to think about that. Of course it won’t be one of mine it will have to be a cutter quilt. LOL
Diana,
I agree that I’d never cut one of my vintage quilts. I’d look for a damaged one for cheap at the thrift stores to use for crafts. Let me know how your wreath turns out.
