Dirt Road Adventures: Closing Out March With Good News & Great Projects!
Happy Sunday, and welcome to Dirt Road Adventures! This is where we review all the exciting events behind the scenes, on the website, and the sources of inspiration I discovered online during the past week. This weekly recap ensures you don’t miss any of our adventures here at the end of our Dirt Road.

Hey friends,
It’s hard to believe we are at the end of March. It’s been a crazy, busy week as I’ve been working on projects I want to finish before heading to the beach for Easter. I was able to share a few last week and will be sharing more this coming week. In addition, I’ve been a little stressed waiting for the results of my latest CT scan. I had my doctor appointment on Friday, and I feel so blessed to be able to report good news! It’s been 11 months since I received the devastating news, and it’s been a long road. I’m still on the path of recovery, but I feel so encouraged. I’m still updating my Healing Journal and appreciate all the encouragement and prayers.
In other news, we are also preparing for a wedding in Charleston, SC. Brad and I have been searching for the perfect attire. I’m loving trying on dresses, but Brad hasn’t enjoyed the process at all. He suffered through trying on suits and finally found one I’m happy with! LOL! He has lost 45 lbs and nothing he owns fits anymore. He still wants to wear Size L, and the gentleman helping us was very amused by us. We had to compromise on size, but he’s going to look great! Now it’s time to find the perfect accessories!

Why Didn’t I Think of That?
There are so many wonderful blog posts each week, and I’m sharing some of my favorites with you today.
There are so many creative ideas, and I’m always asking myself, “Why didn’t I think of that”? LOL
- Do you have an awkward space in your home that you can’t seem to figure out how to use? I was inspired by KariAnne’s Awkward Hallway Makeover, and it appears to be very budget-friendly.
- And then I saw my friend Ann tackling another awkward space in her open-floor-plan home. Wait until you see Ann’s Scullery-inspired Kitchen Workroom.
- I’ve been looking for wreath inspiration this spring, and Jennifer’s Living Pansy Spring Wreath is a favorite.
- My gardening friend Stacy has a new book that’s ready for pre-order. Don’t miss her third book, Filling Your Home with Life!
What’s in my Cart
I’ll be honest, I’ve ordered several dresses that looked adorable on the model, and I’ve returned them all. I’m looking forward to this destination wedding and want an outfit that makes me feel good. I finally found “The Dress,” but it wasn’t online or even in the high-end boutiques. It was at a consignment shop. Yes! A brand new Lilly Pulitzer dress with original tags still attached for 80% less than the original price tag. It’s flowy, and the colors remind me of Rainbow Row. It’s perfect for a Charleston outdoor wedding.
I’m still looking for the perfect shoes and accessories. Here are a few I’ve added to my cart.
- I like the touch of sparkle and the heel on these sandals. I think they might work.
- They also come in a pale pink sandal, which would be cute with the dress.
- I’m also going to try these floral earrings.
- These pale blue flower earrings are also a possibility.
- I’d love to have this pink handbag! Do you think I can find one at a consignment shop?? LOL
- This handbag is so cute, too.
- I needed a smaller wallet, and my daughter turned me on to this wallet that holds more than it appears, and it’s on sale.
