The Farmhouse Front Door Ideas

Each year, I surround the double french doors with lots of holiday dรฉcor. You will notice that the doors themselves are left unadorned because I don’t like to block the view.

In addition, this allows the new Delaney Hardware handsets to really shine. The Briona Farmhouse Style handset comes in this oil-rubbed bronze finish. It adds a perfect farmhouse touch to the porch.

Adding Christmas Garland

Since there are no wreaths on the doors, adding a garland helps to enhance them. It’s one of the best ideas for a farmhouse-style porch.

This beautiful, pre-lit garland from Balsam Hill is easy to hang. And compared to natural greenery, it stays looking great all season.

Because I get so many questions about hanging a garland, I wanted to share these fabulous hooks I use for many purposes. I have purchased at least three sets and keep finding new ways to use them daily. Click on the photo for details.

Adding garland to a porch swing may sound like a crazy idea. However, I love how festive it is. The garland is made using a grapevine, and real magnolia leaves are tied to the vine. In addition, some flocked pinecones and twinkle lights complete the cozy feel.

You can see how to flock pinecones more easily.

Christmas Trees for a Farmhouse Porch

Next, adding some small Christmas trees helps to create a warm and festive feel. They are scattered throughout the porch and gathered around the doors.

The trees are of various styles, and here are more creative ways to use Christmas trees.

Creative Details

Instead of filling the two large urns full of greenery, a minimum of greenery is topped with some large bells in the center.

In addition, the greenery on the shutters is layered with a combination of 3 bells.

Come and Sit A Spell

Having comfortable seating on your farmhouse porch is like icing on the cake. A farmhouse porch isn’t complete without a swing and a few rocking chairs.

Even if your porch is small, creating an area for seating will make your porch so much more inviting.

Extra Tip – For Christmas Farmhouse Porch Ideas

Subdued lighting is a must for a cozy atmosphere and is one of my best tips. Therefore, most of our lights have dimmers attached, and the porch lights keep everything well-lit without harsh, blinding light.

Even the sting lights surrounding the porch are attached to a dimmer. This helps to create a cozy glow in the evenings.
