Create Cozy Gathering Spots in Farmhouse Kitchen

When we designed our farmhouse, we wanted the kitchen to be the heart of our home.  A place to gather. 

Therefore, we built a 6 x 7-foot kitchen island using industrial materials and vintage furniture.

The sideboard was a rescued piece of furniture that I had refinished for my previous home.

The combination of traditional furniture pieces and industrial pipe for a one-of-a-kind farmhouse island.

Although the wooden island top is new, I used a technique to make it look like reclaimed barn wood.

I left the natural wood tones on the front of the sideboard & painted the rest.  The color continues to change.

Now regardless of the occasion, everyone gathers around the kitchen island.
