Dirt Road Adventures – Thrift Store Adventures

Happy Sunday! This week was a whirlwind of activity and some exciting Thrift Store Adventures!

Y’all this might have been the best thrifting week ever. I’ve been in vintage, thrifting heaven.

This is a look back at all my adventures this past week.

On Wednesday’s Thrifting with the Gals, I scored some great stuff. At my first stop, I found some vintage dishes and old silverware. Yay!!! I can’t wait to clean up the old silverware. It’s a bag of mismatched patterns and pieces, sorta like a treasure hunt in a bag.

But that’s no comparison to my next stop. I scored big time with a primitive, chippy green cabinet for only $35.00. Y’all I about screamed when I saw the price. I hovered over the cabinet as I was frantically sharing photo’s with my husband. I took that price tag off so fast, it would make your head spin.

OK, as of this post, I don’t know where that cabinet is going to land but it’s at my house. YAY! When I decide where its permanent home will be, you’ll be the first to know.

Thrift Store Adventures on the Blog

Thrift Store Adventures all began in the Greenhouse on Tuesday. I shared some wonderful new garden pieces from MacKenzie Childs which I mixed with some recent thrift store finds.

Little did I know that the sweet dishes, I had found for only 49 cents each, were treasured heirloom dishes. Friends from all around the country shared stories of their grandmother’s and great grandmother’s having those same dishes. It warms my heart to hear those stories.

I love knowing more about my finds

Next, I shared my guest bedroom dressed up for summer. I took you on a tour and shared ways to use your heirloom and thrifted finds to decorate your home.

You can watch my YouTube video as well. If you’ve not subscribed to my YouTube Channel, I hope you will.

Yesterday, I shared Cheap Raised Garden Bed Ideas from a wanna be gardeners. I really want to have an abundance of flowers and vegetables all around the greenhouse. Maybe one day that will happen. LOL

Why Didn’t I Think of That?

Each week, there are so many wonderful blog posts, and I’m sharing some of my favorites with you today.

There are so many creative ideas, and I’m always asking myself, “Why didn’t I think of that”? LOL

DIY Adventures

Since I didn’t get my planned DIY projects done this week, I thought I’d share some great ideas from my friends.

Peonies Season
Leslie from My 100 Year Old Home has such great ideas and shared How to Enjoy Peonies Season All Year Long with this fun tutorial.
My friend Chloe at Celebrate and Decorate created this awesome wreath. You have to see her full tutorial.
DIY cottage garden tower
Jennifer at Cottage on Bunker Hill updated a simple tomato cage to make this awesome garden tower.
I couldn’t end the post without a patriotic DIY. Here’s a cute project so you can get ready for the Memorial Day weekend. Andrea at Design Morsels shared this cute Star Spangled Lantern Design. Check out all the details on Andrea’s Blog.

I hope you enjoyed today’s adventures. Have the best new week!

Ultra inspirational today, Rachel! I wish I could find some silverplate at my Goodwill/thrifts! Love the cupboard---cupboards always have a spot in my heart---they emit "possibilities" as one contemplates how to best repurpose, locate and fill to the brim! I scored some great enamel pans for 25cents each this weekend! Garage sale.

All for now. Keep up the great work! Sandra
