Dirt Road Adventures – Last Weeks Adventures

Happy Sunday, and welcome to Dirt Road Adventures, a look back at all the behind-the-scenes blogging adventures and inspiring ideas I found online.

I hope you had a wonderful week and that your Mother’s Day was a special day!

We spent the day in Greensboro with our daughter and son-in-law and visited a couple of their favorite breweries.

Here we are at Oden Brewery, located in a historic building with an amazing story behind the brewery. You know how I love old architecture? This building was a soft drink bottling company in the 1930s and ’40s.

Decades after closing its doors, the old Buffalo Bottling Plant has been refurbished by the original owner’s great-grandson. You can sit in the great outdoor space they’ve created and listen to live music, grab a bite from the food trucks that rotate to this venue, and enjoy a tasty brew.

If you are like me, you will love just looking at all the historical architectural elements inside the brewery.

Adventures at the End of the Dirt Road

This is a look back at all my adventures this past week.

Grandpup Sitting

We stayed in Greensboro for three nights to sit with the grand pups and to finish installing new flooring. Brad has been working on their upstairs flooring one room at a time, and he finished the primary bedroom this trip. Finally, their home is carpet free!

While Brad did most of the work, I could work on my blog posts and play with the doggies. There is nothing like waking up to 3 of them bouncing on you. LOL

If you give attention to one of them, the other two will not be left out. After losing Pumpkin just before Christmas, Millie is Jennifer and Jason’s new puppy.

Millie is a mini-goldendoodle, just like Rudy, and as she’s filling out, it’s hard to tell them apart. The Yorkie is Jackson, and he’s a tough little fella to put up with the other two.

Millie, it appears, has picked up some bad habits from her grandparents (haha) and is now the princess of the sunroom sofa.

I’ve had several questions about why Rudy was wearing a cone. You may have seen him wearing it in the videos I posted.

Rudy in cone of shame.

Rudy hasn’t healed from an anal gland rupture a few months ago. He’s had two rounds of anti-biotics, but it’s not healing properly because he will not leave it alone. So he’s in the cone unless we have eyes on him 100% of the time.

However, he is the best boy and doesn’t mind wearing the cone, which I find amazing. In fact, Brad pretended to put the cone on Millie, and Rudy was not happy about that. LOL!
