Dirt Road Adventures: Enjoy Your Mother’s Day

Happy Sunday, and welcome to Dirt Road Adventures: Enjoy Your Mother’s Day! This is where we review all the exciting events behind the scenes, on the website, and the sources of inspiration I discovered online during the past week. This weekly recap ensures you don’t miss any of our adventures.

Hey friends,

I hope you’ve had a wonderful week and that you are spending time with your loved ones this Mother’s Day weekend. I’m keeping everything short and sweet this weekend, but I wanted to give you a little update on what’s been happening behind the scenes and on the blog.

We are tired of having water issues.

First, here is an update on the water damage at our guest cottage. All the insulation has been removed from underneath, and floors are being torn out as we speak. Hopefully, after things dry out, the new flooring will be installed by the end of next week. Fingers crossed.

In other water-related news, we opened the pool this past week and found three tiny holes in the liner that had to be patched. Some poor fellow had to take an early swim. Thankfully, the liner is still in good shape after the repair. There is no need for a new liner this year! Whew!

Then, just as the pool water was looking good, a leak appeared in an outside pipe. Brad fixed the problem, and all is well. The pool is looking great!

We just are tired of all the water issues. That’s three. Don’t they say bad things come in threes? If so, hopefully, we are done with that. LOL

Pool is now open for the season.

Adventures at the End of the Dirt Road

This is a look back at all my adventures this past week.

We are spending the weekend at our beach cottage, and true to our nature, we are working on a project. I have been wanting to replace the built-in cabinets that surround the bed. Storage space is so limited in the 460 sq. ft. cottage, and the cabinets have been much needed.

We talked about removing and building something ourselves. However, just the cost of materials is staggering. So, we came up with another idea. We have the project about halfway completed as I’m writing this, so I’ll be sharing the updated cabinets with you next week. So far, I’m loving the new coastal look.

I also brought the DIY Coastal Patriotic Star wreath to the beach cottage in preparation for Memorial Day. It looks great hanging on our front door.
