Dirt Road Adventures: Dreaming of Spring

Happy Sunday, and welcome to Dirt Road Adventures! This is where we review all the exciting events behind the scenes, on the website, and the sources of inspiration I discovered online during the past week. This weekly recap ensures you don’t miss any of our adventures here at the end of our Dirt Road.

Hey Friends,

It’s hard to believe we are entering the last week of January. To be honest, after this past week, I’m dreaming of Spring!

Things are slowly getting back to normal on the blog. I missed sharing with you last week, but I’m so excited about the response to my new website design. I’ve been making tweaks and taking suggestions all week. My goal is for you to have a better experience when you visit my site and that you can find all the inspiration you are looking for more easily. I’m still open to more suggestions and ideas, so keep them coming.

Adventures at the End of the Dirt Road

This is a look back at all my adventures this past week.

First, I want to back up to the week before last. I mentioned in my email that my friend Jennifer from Cottage on Bunkerhill helped me update the blog. We had so much fun; I couldn’t have done it without her. If you don’t follow Jennifer, I encourage you to hop over and check out her blog. She loves DIY projects and offers excellent gardening tips, and many of her projects include fresh flowers and natural elements. I know you will love her as much as I do.

We had some free time and went downtown Asheboro for a little thrifting and antique shopping. Although Jennifer found a lot she liked, her suitcase was limited. However, you can check out my finds under My Thrifting Adventures.

We have been stuck indoors this past week because it was so cold, brr…! We had a light snow with the heavier snow south of us. A view from our beach cottage showed approximately 5 inches. I hope you are staying warm where you are.

Although I hadn’t left the house in days, I still managed to get sick by the end of the week. This resulted in me being behind on many of my projects. I usually wish for one good snow, but I’m so over it now. Instead, I’m praying for warmer weather and better health as we move into the last week of January. Spring, here we come (please)!

Why Didn’t I Think of That?

There are so many wonderful blog posts each week, and I’m sharing some of my favorites with you today.

There are so many creative ideas, and I’m always asking myself, “Why didn’t I think of that”? LOL

Thrifting Adventures This Week

Okay, I stayed bundled up at home most of this past week because I can’t stand the cold. However, the week before was much warmer, and Jennifer and I did a little shopping. While we were at the Collectors Antique Mall, I found this great etching by Ernest Rost! It’s signed and is from the late 1800s. The price was right, and home with me, it came. Jennifer helped me style the new treasure as soon as we were home. I’ll be sharing soon.

A few thrift store shops later, I had a blue and white planter, olive bowl, and sponge holder. Not a bad haul for under $60.00.

What’s In My Cart

Thank you so much for stopping by today, and I look forward to sharing more adventures with you next week.
