Equipment

  • Amazon Basics Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Skillet, 15-Inch
  • Hamilton Beach Slow Cooker, Extra Large 10 Quart, Stay or Go Portable With Lid Lock, Dishwasher Safe Crock, Black (33195)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 1/4 tsp. butter
  • 1 large can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 -16 oz. can fire roasted diced tomatoes
  • 2 -16 oz. cans Dark Kidney Beans
  • 1/2 Tbsp. Chili Powder
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/4 tsp. cumin
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese optional
  • Sour Cream optional
  • jalapeƱo peppers optional

Instructions

  • Chop onion
  • Add butter and chopped onion to a large skillet
  • Cook until onion is soft
  • Add ground beef and cook until browned
  • Drain any liquid
  • Add all ingredients to the crock pot
  • cook on low for a min. of 3 hours.
  • Serve with Sour Cream and/or Shredded Cheddar Cheese, jalapeno peppers (all Optional)

Notes

Do not drain the kidney beans.
You can substitute ground beef for ground turkey if you'd like.
