Old Fashioned Bourbon Bread Pudding Recipe

 Bread pudding is a popular dessert in many countries around the world. It is thought to have originated in England in the 13th century. Bread pudding was originally a way to use up stale bread.

Start by cutting the bread into approx. 2-inch cubes and toss with the half and half.

Add butter to a saucepan and melt of low heat.  Remove from stovetop. Next, add bourbon and confectioner sugar, stirring until smooth. Add heavy cream to the mixture and mix until creamy.

 Remove the baked pudding from the oven and pour the glaze over the top evenly. Garnish with premium cherries if desired.

Let stand for 15 minutes to allow the glaze to set.

The Old Fashioned Bourbon Bread Pudding is best when served warm. You can add whipped cream or vanilla ice cream to the top if desired.
