Garden Decoration Ideas Using Concrete Statues

One of the top items on my list when shopping at thrift stores is unique, vintage garden accessories. I always look for old terra cotta and concrete pots, vintage garden tools, and garden statues.

Gardens and Landscapes are filled with plants and flowers, but many garden decorations help to enhance their appeal. You can add water features, including fountains, birdbaths, and bird feeders. Another way to enjoy your garden is to add a bench or bistro table and chairs to create a seating area. One of my favorite enhancements is to add vintage garden statuary.

I love collecting old concrete statuary and incorporating it into the garden and landscape. However, you don’t have to limit yourself to the garden. Concrete garden statues add texture and style to porches, sunrooms, or any indoor spaces.

Today, you’ll see my collection of vintage garden statuary, and I’ll share some of my decorating ideas with you.

Decorating with Garden Statues on the Porch

The porch is a favorite area for adding garden statues. You will almost always find one or two tucked in with the flowers, planters, and seating areas. One of my oldest and most treasured concrete garden statues is an angel with a large clam shell. She has decorated porches, tablescapes, and the garden for the past several years. Her clamshell is perfect for holding seasonal decor such as flowers, ornaments, pinecones, and more. She is a fun addition to garden-inspired table settings and has held fruit, salad dressing, and bread rolls on different occasions.

A concrete swan planter and fat bird add creative style to the porch sitting area this Spring. The swan can be filled with different seasonal plants for year-round decorating. And the slightly greenish, slightly rusty bird adds a fun element to the porch.

Another great way to display vintage garden statues is to place them in planters alongside your plants. From spring through fall, my front door is filled with many concrete bunnies.

A more recent purchase is a mossy, thrifted rabbit planter. It is filled with petunias to brighten the front porch this year. The rabbit’s naturally aged look caught my eye immediately, and I have already used the planter all around the farmhouse, both on the porch and inside the house.

A garden statuary that doubles as a planter is a great purchase because it serves multiple purposes.

Insider Tip

If you discover a vintage concrete statuary planter, be sure to snatch it up. Versatile garden accessories can be used in so many great ways. They can double as serving pieces for fun tablescapes or hold flowers or plants as centerpieces. And, of course, you can add them to your garden as a planter.

Concrete Statuaries At The Greenhouse

Another area where it is fun to use concrete statuaries for decoration is the greenhouse or she-shed. From the small front porch to the inside, the greenhouse is filled with vintage concrete garden decorating ideas.

Plants on the greenhouse porch surround another favorite angel concrete statue. I saw her in an antique mall and didn’t purchase her immediately. However, I couldn’t get the sweet face off my mind, and thankfully, she was still there when I returned.

You are going to love this chippy bunny. I was thrifting in Wilmington when I saw her sitting outside of a shop. This sweet bunny was so chippy that the store owner was surprised I wanted her. LOL.

But to me, she is perfect. She holds a basket of flowers and is, therefore, a perfect addition to the greenhouse decorations.

Greenhouse Table Centerpiece

The same sweet bunny and concrete bird also added so much vintage charm to a greenhouse table centerpiece vignette. The vignette includes many thrifted garden finds and a DIY wooden table riser. You can see more details at Easy Basket Centerpiece and Table Vignette Ideas.

How To Decorate with Concrete Garden Statues Indoors

Bring the outdoors inside by adding your garden decor to entry and coffee tables. The chippy vintage finds add unique character when added to your curated decor.

The vintage concrete swan has been seen on the porch, but inside, she adds country chic charm to the spring coffee table and helps create a spring garden vignette on the entry table.

I’ve also brought a couple of the bunny statuaries inside the farmhouse for different occasions. The bunny planter looks great holding plants and flowers, but inside the house, it does double duty, holding bath towels for an early Spring bathroom decoration. And that sweet chippy bunny resides behind the dining table for a rustic Easter touch.

Garden Statuary Decorating

What better place to decorate with garden statuary than in the garden or outdoor spaces?

My favorite new garden statue is this cute little pig. I picked him up just a few weeks ago at the Carolina Picker’s Festival. For now, I’m letting him enjoy the attention he’s getting around the gorgeous phlox. However, I can see him wandering indoors before the summer is over. Don’t you think he’ll make a great conversation piece?

Next to our outdoor kitchen, a couple of vintage pieces are nestled in the plants. One of my first finds was a concrete girl with a book for a planter. She has aged with a crusty patina that I can’t get enough of. The bunny is perched on the cedar tree stump for added height. His green paint has faded and chipped, leaving him perfectly aged.

Can you tell that I’m drawn to bunnies? This chippy fellow is at the front of the outdoor kitchen, surrounded by blooming chives. And finally, a mossy bunny has a fun spot beside our potting bench located behind the kitchen. This vintage shifter has seen better days, but it can still hold a few plants and clay pots, along with the bunny.

I think I’ve shared all my bunny statuaries, but I may find another one peeking out from behind a shrub. It’s hard for me to leave a new one behind, so I may have forgotten a few scattered around the property.

Hopefully, these ideas have sparked some creative decorating ideas for you. I hope you will share some of the ways you decorate your home with concrete statuaries.
