How The DIY Tablescape Came Together
Before I started working on the dining table place settings, I switched out the plate gallery wall with holiday reindeer dishes. The European gathering basket is the center point of the gallery wall, and this year I used faux Norfolk pine stems and faux pinecones for a festive holiday look.

I added some gold leaf stems to brighten the wall arrangement.

The Long-Lasting Table Centerpiece
Once I had the wall decorated for Christmas, I was ready to start on the table. The centerpiece is made from a thrift-store-painted container. I found the planter a few weeks ago and knew I wanted to include it in my holiday decorating. I used DIY bleached pinecones, fresh magnolia stems, and faux pine stems to create the centerpiece. You can see the full details at Fresh Meets Faux: The Trick to a Long-Lasting Christmas Centerpiece.

Inspiring Christmas Tableware
At this point, I was still unsure of the direction the table setting would go. Then I found two new items that inspired me to pull the table together.
First, there were these adorable Christmas tree candles. I knew I had to add them to this year’s Christmas tablescape.

Then I found these sweet Christmas tree napkins. The colors were just perfect with my Christmas color scheme this year.

DIY Christmas Table Decorations: Felt Trees
Once I got home and added the Christmas Tree candles to my vintage brass candlesticks, I knew I needed to make some felt trees to complete the tablescape.
I decided to make trees in green and cream to work with the napkins and candle. I added each tree to brass candlesticks in varying heights. You can see the details to make the felt Christmas trees at Easy Felt Christmas Tree Tutorial.

Holiday Table Garland
To complete the tablescape centerpiece, I added a faux greenery table garland at the center of the table. Then I added gold leaf stems and nestled all the vintage brass candlesticks with felt and candle trees in and amongst the garland branches. In addition, I added some vintage brass reindeer along the garland.

How To Create Each Place Setting
Once I had the center of the table filled, it was time to create each place setting.

I began with a gold charger plate and then added a neutral dinner plate and a beaded salad plate.

I had some greenery wreaths left over from the front porch doors, so I decided to use them on each place setting. In addition, I added another Christmas tree napkin between the two plates.

I finished the place setting with a vintage white bowl and placed a small white ceramic tree in the center.

The new napkins hold gold and acrylic flatware to add sparkle.

Elegant Christmas Table Place Settings
Each place setting combines new and thrifted tableware for a simple yet elegant style.

Tablescape With Gold Accents
I’m using touches of gold throughout the farmhouse this Christmas, and the tablescape is no exception.

From brass candlesticks and charger plates to gold stems, gold cutlery, and glittery DIY felt Christmas trees, the table sparkles and shines.

DIY Christmas Tablescape Old and New
The table is a perfect balance of old and new. Elegant dinnerware pieces mixed with DIY projects give the table setting a timeless farmhouse holiday feel.

The gallery plate wall and plate racks are filled with holiday dishes and vintage breadboards. The honey pine hutch is loaded with vintage ironstone, a few Christmas trees, and greenery touches. All combine to create a rustic yet elegant dining space for holiday entertaining.

Rachel,
Your tablescape is lovely. I like the vibe it puts forth of a winter nature scene. The whimsical reindeer plates on the wall are cute surrounding the pretty basket arrangement, and the hutch full of ironstone and greenery fits perfectly with all of it. I hope you’re healing well and feeling better as each day goes by.
