Dirt Road Adventures – 43 Years Of Adventures

Y’all it’s hard to believe but Brad and I just celebrated our 43rd Wedding Anniversary as part of this weeks Dirt Road Adventures!

Approx. 1980 with a poor quality camera. LOL

1979 – I wish I still had that skin.

We decided to down size and simplify our lives about 8 years ago.

So we moved to the country and built our forever home at the end of a dirt road.

Little did we know that the real adventures were about to begin.

1983 – you can barely see baby Jennifer / Approx. 1990 when we were first at Kure Beach

I started my blog to share our adventures without realizing where it would lead us.

First, I never thought you would be interested enough to read it and what a blessing you have been to us. Your support and encouragement means so much.

Second, I’ve met so many wonderful people along the way. Most I’ve not met in person but I’d love to have everyone here at The Ponds so Brad can cook for you one day! Wouldn’t that be so fun?

You can see more about our beginning at The Ponds here.

The adventure continues

Here we are at the beach cottage a few years ago. I wouldn’t want to be on this adventure with anyone else.

We work pretty well together.

I come up with the crazy ideas. Like removing a window and adding a closet.

He likes to grumble for a minute but always jumps on board.

So here’s to 43 years and many more adventures on the dirt road.

Why Didn’t I Think of That?

Each week, there are so many wonderful blog posts, and Iโ€™m sharing some of my favorites with you today.

There are so many creative ideas, and I’m always asking myself, “Why didn’t I think of that”? LOL

This Vintage Badminton Racket Wreath is just so clever by Ann at Dabbling and Decorating.

Wait until you see this clever idea from Wendy at WM Design House – How to Repurpose Old Tools into Succulent Planters. Wendy’s creative idea was featured in Better Homes and Gardens Magazine the Spring of 2018 with a 5 page spread. You may have seen this idea elsewhere now, however it was Wendy’s original idea. Isn’t she talented?

Wait until you see what Stacy did with this Thrift Store Flip. It’s just perfect.

I can’t wait to show you what I’m doing with one of these cute stamps.

And this brown craft paper.

This chair is so comfortable and perfect for the beach or by the pool.

I’m loving these watering spikes that I got a few weeks ago.

These beets are coming up in my garden. I can’t wait to harvest time. You can plant them all summer into fall for continuous beets. If you love beets, you’ll love this Hard to Beat Those Beets post.
